We need £1,180,000

       for Chelsea Children's Hospital

       delivering outstanding comfort and
thoughtful support for our younger patients

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital treats 85,000 children a year and is the lead provider of
specialist paediatric care for North West London. More than 90% of all complex paediatric
surgery cases (i.e. surgery on the under 2s) for the area are handled at the hospital and
pioneering innovations in minimally invasive surgery have been developed here. We are
developing a new Chelsea Children’s Hospital to deliver outstanding levels of care, comfort
and support for patients, families and carers.

Phase I of the hospital is now open and features:

  • Four new children’s operating theatres – the first of their kind in the UK;
  • A 12-bed children’s High Dependency Unit, and a sensory room
  • A state-of-the-art simulation unit to train paediatric surgeons from all over the UK
  • Two treatment rooms and five examination rooms
  • Interactive design features and visual arts to stimulate the imagination, provide distraction from treatment and humanise the environment

We are seeking to raise the remaining £287,000 to fund:

  • Children's Outpatients' enhancements (sensory play, design features  etc)
  • Chill Out area for teenagers complete with games, music and social media
  • Elephant info kiosks
  • Parental accommodation
  • A juice bar/café

This development will cement our reputation as the leading acute hospital in the

            UK for  children.
